Our Lady of Lourdes offers a strong academic curriculum for grades Pre K through 8th. Our curriculum is in accordance with the guidelines set by New York State, as well as by the Archdiocese of New York.
OLL students are taught in a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment. All students receive individual attention to help them reach their highest potential.
In addition to the core curriculum of Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, Religion, and Science, OLL's curriculum includes Computer, Library, Art, Physical Education, and Music. We incorporate technology into the curriculum in every grade, and in almost every subject. The Cooke Center for Learning and Development provides ongoing faculty training in teaching literacy. The New York Hall of Science provides ongoing faculty coaching in teaching and applying science throughout the curriculum.
Test Scores Demonstrate Strong Academics
Under the strong leadership of Principal Cathy Hufnagel, the school's standardized test scores have greatly increased.
New York State Test
79% of 4th graders passed the 2008 English
73% of 4th graders passed the 2008 Math
All grades tested either above grade level or on grade level in the Iowa State Test (ITBS)
With the help of our generous Patrons, we are able to provide our 8th grade students with two annual Career Days during which students take tours, ask questions, and learn about different career opportunities. |
